Old peasant couple, arm in arm. They are called ‘Grasset’ and ‘Grassetto’. The woman, slightly bent, carries a basket filled with fruit on her arm. Her clothes are neat: a small red headscarf worn over the shoulders, a blue apron tied around the waist and a white cotton headdress whose flaps hang down to the neck. The man, in his best suit, holds a lantern to light their way.
